Let's do a little catch up, shall we?

Things have been pretty hectic around here, lately. I feel like I haven't had time to blog at all! So, let's do a little catching up on things that have been going on in the life of E lately...

Some friends' wedding in LaGrange, GA. The bride and groom left the reception in a helicopter!
The whole group with the bride and groom!
Gorgeous wedding location
We clean up well, sometimes

Then, my bro came in town, and we all headed to Decatur for the Decatur Beer Festival. This was my first DBF, and I had heard such great things about it, so I couldn't wait to experience it for myself. Everything about it was great - the beers were phenomenal. They had my favorite beer, Allagash white :)

Of course, pretzel necklaces were made
The bf made a genius shirt, which everyone loved
The weather was glorioius, and the beer was flowing
"Spirit fingers don't show up on camera" - me trying to prove him wrong
Guessing our alcohol levels to win tshirts
And then we brought a new duck friend into the family group, Carlos

Then I went to my first Falcons game ever! It was probably the best game to go to, it was such an exciting one! We played the Bengals, and the Falcons won - yeah!

Go Falcons!
So those are a few things that have been going on with me lately. Next I'll do a Halloween post! I absolutely love Halloween, and this year was no exception! This week I'm heading to NYC for work! Pretty excited to pop into Times Square, even though it is only for one night...

Exciting things coming up...

I am very excited for this weekend to begin!! My brother is flying in from NYC tonight, and we have a full weekend of Atlanta activities planned:
THIS guy is coming to town.

Friday: Dinner with our parents at Miller Union. I have heard so many great things about this restaurant from different blogs and other websites. It is supposed to have killer cocktails, so you better believe we will indulge!

Saturday: Decatur Beer Festival!!! I am most excited about this activity. The bf has been talking about DBF ever since we started dating, since it is his favorite beerfest in Atlanta. I have not been to this one, though I've visited my fair share of other fests in the city. We were lucky enough to get our tickets on time, before they sold out (within 2 hours!). Lots of old friends and new friends are attending, so it should be a glorious day. Oh, and the weather is calling for 75 and sunny... hello, perfection.

Do you think real elephants will be there? :)

Sunday: Brunch with the family and bf at Mosaic in Buckhead. I've actually never heard of this place; it was all my mom's idea. However, when I checked out the menu online, it looks pretty delish! Plus, it has the "largest pet-friendly outdoor patio in Buckhead", which means we get to bring Cooper!

You get to come, too!
I will be giving a full report next week about the greatness of the weekend. Until then, I may be a little bit MIA... Have a great weekend everyone!

A nice little Saturday..

This Saturday, a group of us were heading to a Braves game, so we decided to start the festivities a few hours early. We started the day out with lunch and beers at The Bucket Shop on Lenox, because they have $4 tall Coors lights and pretty tasty food. It also happens to be some of the guys' favorite place to go. I got a buffalo chicken wrap, but substituted the buffalo sauce for the Jack Daniel's wing sauce - great idea for anyone who is looking for something new! Delicious! After Bucket Shop, we had planned to go to ABC or Sweetwater, but both of those options fell through pretty quick. Apparently ABC was having some huge event that day, so we knew it would be too crowded. When we pulled up to our second choice, Sweetwater, the line was so ridiculous we immediately turned around. Love me some breweries, but don't love standing in line in 95 degree weather. Agree?
Does this make anyone else thirsty?
So, we headed over to Howell Mill to Ormsby's. If you haven't been to Ormsby's before, you need to go! It's a new joint that opened, and it is a sort of gastropub/game place. The upstairs looks like a normal bar with a bunch of tables all around and a decent sized bar. Downstairs, however, is where the fun happens! There are pool tables, darts, bocce ball courts, a photo booth (yep, I forced the bf in there once before against his will), and shuffleboard. Keep in mind, it is tough to get in on some games on busy nights, but on a Saturday afternoon when most people are not boozing, we had our pick!

Love bocce ball
Of course we went to the Ice Ball game and bocce ball first. For Ice Ball, I'll just go ahead and toot my own horn here, because I was the first of the group to get the ball in the 10,000 hole - go me! Not gonna lie, I was half hoping that a bunch of tickets would fly out which I could take to the counter of goodies and redeem for cheap toys and trinkets, but I suppose this is an "adult" arcade... no prizes. Sad.

Ice Ball is quite competitive
After we played a very intense game of bocce ball (and by that I mean the girls watched the guys play while we gossiped), we decided to head to Turner and begin tailgating! We set up our tailgate, complete with beer, snacks (including my ham sandwiches), music and cornhole, and hung out for a few hours before the game started.

Another intense game - cornhole!
After a lot of tailgating in the heat, we headed into the stadium. We ended up with really decent seats, and all 9 of us got to sit together (thanks Dan for organizing!). With beers and boiled peanuts in lap, we had a really great time doing the tomohawk chop and watching the Braves beat the Giants 3-0. Go Braves! It was a great day overall, but towards the end of the night the sun and drinking started to get to me, and I couldn't wait to crawl into bed.... Love hopping around the city on the weekends!

Group pic of the tailgaters

Typical.
View from our seats
This tattoo is not ok... I think it's a character from the movie Cars?

BRAVES WIN!!! Obvi.
High fives all around
Starting to get super pumped about football tailgating now!

All the beers you can handle... Oh, and some baseball too

A couple of weeks ago, we went to an all you can eat and drink Braves game. A friend of mine set it all up, and got a huge group of people to join in the fun. The cost included the tickets, pretty decent seats, and all the hot dogs, BBQ, cookies, chips, and cheap draft beer you can handle (Keystone Light I believe - gross). Of course, going into this, we HAD to get our money’s worth… so, needless to say, we visited the beer man quite often.

Beer and baseball are a DO, unless you are this guy.
This was a particularly perfect day for sports, because USA happened to be playing in the World Cup that day as well. We were able to go into Turner Stadium two hours before the Braves played, to enjoy the amenities, so we parked ourselves in front of the lobby TVs, vuvuzelas in tow, and watched the USA game.

These loud things almost got us booted from the stadium!

Let’s not even discuss the sadness of losing that game, because we ended up having a great day! We wore some USA and Braves gear to support the teams. Right after the World Cup game, we went outside to our seats to watch the Braves game. At least they won!
vuvuzela!

The rest of the day seemed to fly by pretty quickly, as we spent a lot of time in the beer line and the food line, but it was a pretty great day. I would definitely recommend trying the All you Can Drink seats at the games, especially if you plan on drinking a lot of cold brews on a hot summer day. Those beers are normally $8 a pop!
Uncle Sam cheering for USA! USA!
